01 Who we are
CE Equipment ("we," "us," or "our") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website (the "Site"). We are based in Cork, Ireland, and provide EU authorized representative services to business clients.
This policy explains what data the Site collects, why, and what rights you have — in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018. For privacy inquiries, contact info@cees.ie.
02 Cookies and tracking
The short version.
Today, the Site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. The personal data we collect is what you send us through a contact form, plus the standard technical logs any web server keeps.
We may introduce analytics or advertising cookies in the future to understand how the Site is used. If we do, a consent banner will ask for your permission before any non-essential cookies are set, you will be able to accept or decline them, and this policy will be updated with the details.
03 What we collect
Contact form submissions. When you request a quotation or send us a message, we collect the details you enter: your name, email address, company name, the role you select, and the content of your message.
Technical log data. Our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. We use these only to serve the Site and keep it secure.
Font requests. The Site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests a font file, your IP address is disclosed to Google as part of that request. Google's handling of this data is described in its own privacy policy.
04 Why we process it (legal bases)
- Steps prior to a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): we process your form submission to respond to your inquiry and prepare the quotation you asked for.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): we process technical log data to operate the Site, maintain security, and prevent abuse.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): any non-essential cookies we introduce — such as analytics or advertising — will be set only after you agree via the consent banner.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): we retain certain records where Irish law requires it.
We do not use your data for marketing unless you separately agree to it, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
05 Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers that make the Site work:
- Netlify hosts the Site and stores contact form submissions on our behalf. Netlify, Inc. is a US company; transfers are safeguarded under its data processing terms, including Standard Contractual Clauses (see Netlify's privacy policy).
- Google serves the fonts described above.
Beyond that, we disclose data only if required by law, or to professional advisors (such as accountants or auditors) under confidentiality obligations.
06 International transfers
Because our hosting provider operates infrastructure in the United States, your data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards under Chapter V of the GDPR, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
07 How long we keep it
- Contact form submissions: for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and any engagement that follows, and up to 5 years afterwards for record-keeping.
- Technical logs: retained by our hosting provider for a short operational period, then deleted or anonymized.
08 Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy;
- have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
- have your data erased, subject to legal retention obligations;
- restrict or object to our processing of your data;
- receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@cees.ie. We respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish supervisory authority, the Data Protection Commission.
09 Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, so data you submit is encrypted in transit. Access to form submissions is limited to the people who need it to respond to you, and our hosting provider applies its own technical and organizational security measures.
10 Children
The Site is directed at business users and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11 Third-party links
The Site links to external websites — official EU legislation on EUR-Lex, regulatory guidance, and partner sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; review their policies before providing any personal data there.
12 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the law or in how the Site works. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged prominently on the Site.
